STAY AT HOME ~ PROTECT THE NHS ~ SAVE LIVES

Letter to Parents - Latest Government Announcement 11.05.2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

You will now be aware of the announcment made last night by the governent regarding the potential reopening of schools from 1st June for Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. We have lots of questions about this that need clarification, as I’m sure you do too.

At the moment for us in school, there is no change to the guidance. We will continue to provide care for those parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response and those who cannot safely be cared for at home. The message is still that it is safer to stay at home.

We have been informed that, later today, the Department for Education will be releasing guidance for schools to accompany the Prime Minister’s announcement. This will hopefully clarify how we can start to plan the phased reopening of these year groups. We will need clear guidelines on how it is possible to socially distance in schools in order to keep our children, staff and families safe. Please be assured that we will not re-open until we are 100% prepared.

It may be several days before the school can relase any information on this or answer your questions or concerns. As always, we will do our best to keep you informed, but for now, please try not to worry. Our plan is to continue to provide home learning for your child, keep in contact with you and to continue to support eachother in these very difficult and uncertain times.

Please continue to take good care of yourselves and stay safe.

Best wishes,

Miss J Hodgkinson
