'STAY HOME, PROTECT THE NHS, SAVE LIVES'

Start of Term January 2021

                                                                                                            04 January 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope you are well and have enjoyed the Christmas break. The current position in Warrington is that all primary schools will open to all pupils this week. St Barnabas will open on Tuesday 5th January.

However, I understand that, given the current rise in infection rates and prevalence of the new strain of the virus in certain parts of the UK, you may have concerns about sending your children back to school.

I fully understand your concerns and would like you to know that we have worked incredibly hard in school since the start of the pandemic to put in place safety measures to protect our school community and make it as safe as we possibly can.

When children return to school in January the following measures will remain in place:

  • Staggered start and finish times. Children should arrive at school at the same time as in the Autumn term and leave at the same time.
  • Children are separated into class bubbles and do not mix with other bubbles
  • Staggered breaks and lunchtimes
  • Enhanced cleaning routines
  • Regular handwashing and sanitising

Could I please remind all parents/carers to wear masks at all times on school premises, observe social distancing and observe the staggered start and finish times.

I understand that this is a very difficult and worrying time for everyone. We are here to support you and your family. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is anything you would like to discuss.

Best wishes,

Miss J Hodgkinson
